Like a lot of you, I am sure, I am thinking of all of the applications associated with the advancement of robots. I believe that we are at a critical point in history where the machines are poised to take off. The advancement potential is unlimited. The applications are infinite. I think that there is not one robot to do all the mundane tasks that man is saddled with but many specialized robots. The idea that we can mimic the capabilities of human beings with one machine is a good one but years away. The idea that we can perform certain mundane tasks is real and achievable today. I hope to develop some real technical relationships and create a sharing environment thru this web site.

We will have specialized robots that do all the repetitive BS tasks that we do day in and day out like fold clothes, do dishes, mow lawns et-al. These will require the development of peripheral devices and systems to support them.

I just got done with two books;

1. The Coming Robot Revolution:....by: Yoseph Bar-Cohen. This book essentially talks about how the world will be populated with walking talking robots in the not too distant future. Not very good. Too simplistic and unreal.

2. Flesh and Machines:...by: Rodney Brooks. Very Good. I would recommend that anyone with an eye toward a career in robotics or wanting to understand the scope and future applications of robotics read this book.
